April Newsletter
Our first-ever Repair Café was a great success! Thanks to the 18 volunteers who gave their time, tools, and skills to help with 25 repairs, and to the more than 40 visitors who came through. In case you missed it, check out this writeup on WESA 90.5 for a lovely recap.
UPCOMING EVENTS
4/19 Circular Economy Fair: Check out this new event series at Construction Junction to meet local small businesses and nonprofits that embrace reuse and repair! This month features Redd-Up Organizers, the Pennsylvania Resources Council, and Spoons Kitchen Exchange.
4/26 Really Really Free Market: We’re so excited about this free community event where you can give and receive items, food, skills, and more. Since the event is outdoors, we’d love to have a table for basic repairs that can be done without electrical access. Please email us at info@repaircafepgh.com if you’d like to participate and help us plan.
5/3 May Repair Café: We’ll be back at Construction Junction with a new work station: IT support! Volunteers will help visitors with tasks like basic computer skills. and installing or updating software. Registering your repair in advance helps us plan our supplies and volunteer roster accordingly.
5/29 Solar Punk Future: We’ll be tabling at this sustainable art and career fair organized by Reimagine Jobs. Please email us at info@repaircafepgh.com if you’d like to participate.
